Design and Illustration

While I spend most of my creative energy on Motion Design, I also find a great deal of value in Designing and Illustrating. It is an opportunity to focus on one still image, and doesn't have to be anything other than what it already is. There is a great freedom in that to concentrate on only the visual elements.

An ongoing project that I've been working on with writer Rich Bray is that he will write a children's poem to accompany one of my illustrations, and then I will also illustrate to accompany one of his poems. They are meant to be fun and designed with children in mind.

Above is a piece I helped design where we created our own branding elements and a fake product line. It is absolutely meant to be humorous in its content, but also show off a clean, professional look which displays easy Navigation, Visual Flow, and Content Variety. Learn more about the project here.

Here's a finished logo design for a company that specializes in Photography. I wrote more about the process in this post.

This next one was just a ton of fun. Album Artwork can be really important to catch people's attention, set the right mood, and say something about the musicians. In this case, it's about fun.

What do you think of when St. Patrick's Day comes up? Most don't actually think of St. Patrick, who has many legends told of him but is also an important figure in transforming Ireland into a better place. This next illustration shows him considering the 3 leaf clover. This illustration also ended up being animated, posted here.

Those are some examples of the kind of Illustrations and Design work that I do. You can also follow me on Flickr to see more!
